Are you drinking enough water?
Try this water calculator! http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm
Teacherperson has inspired me to keep a food journal. I'm including my hydration because that's something I'm trying to be careful about.
The calculator above was sent to me by one of my oldest and dearest friends, who just happens to be a nurse practitioner in women's health (and a lactation consultant for La Leche League). When I asked her about how much water I should be drinking (I knew that the medical world changed their minds on this issue some time in the past decade) she sent me the calculator above and the following articles. Here is an except from her email to me back in Feb:
Check out this site and see if they say anything about water consumption: http://www.mypyramid.gov/. http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/Publications/NutritionInsights/Insight27.pdf#xml=http://65.216.150.153/texis/search/pdfhi.txt?query=water+consumption&pr=MyPyramid&sufs=2&order=r&cq=&id=4592b6e06

OMigosh...I just did the calculater again for fun. I guess when I took it in Feb I wasn't in "extremely hot" weather. This is what it just told me:
114 ounces of water today, or 3.4 liters.
If you eat a healthy diet, about 20 percent of your water may come from the foods you eat. If you eat a healthy diet you can drink 91.2 ounces of water today, or 2.7 liters.
Guess I'll be aiming for 90-100 oz.
It told me 115 oz, 3.5 liters, or to drink 2.8.... lol
I believe in drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. I guess it was how it was engraned in my head as a child, but a while back I watched something on 60 minutes, or some other program on CBS. Here is the article for ir. I was interesting, but again, I'm not sure what to do with the information....

and this one too, it has more information...

How are you today?
@ReneeBrowning - Thanks for the article; I did read it. It's dangerous to drink too much water because it can flush out things you need like electrolytes. My husband drinks watered-down gatorade at work all day...full strength is too much sugar. We nearly lost a friend because he flushed his system with too much water. He lived and is fine now, and the guys went out and bought him a salt lick as a joke.
Doing fine today. Hoping to be more productive like I was Wed. Yesterday I got stuff done in the morning, but spent the whole afternoon at the lake w/ a friend and our dogs. Fun, healthy to be out, but no progress on the novel! How are you?
@BigToePeople - The article doesn't talk so much about not driking TOO much water...but more about the lack of scientific proof that * glasses a day is the maqic number, or that it even help with your skin, weight, or toxins....But again, I don't know...the guys says it isn't that they DON'T help, just that there is NO PROOF WHATSOEVER!
I know about pr=ogress. Yesterday was a wonderfully productive day for me, today not so much. We had to go into public, and that always takes a while cuz everyone has to stop and pet the baby, and the baby has to throw a fit in EVERY store, and I had to go to Walmart which always takes forever, cuz NOWALMART IS EVER ARRANGED THE SAME and I can NEVER find anything...and well....you get the idea.
But I am good. I need to finish putting laundry away (I'm down to 1 load out of like 10) and do the dishes, and that will be all the MAJOR stuff on my list for today!
I'm glad you enjoyed "fun" time yesterday!
